In this section you’ll find pictures that I took with my digicams. I started out with a couple of dinky cameras, then I had a 2.1mp HP one.  Most of my pictures here, though, were taken with my Pentax Optio 33L and Pentax Optio S50. Others might argue that there are better cameras out there.  I will admit that sometimes the Pentax cameras are slow, and that they’re not that good with action shots.  But then again I don’t take action shots often at all.  I do know that my cameras take way better close-up pictures than my mom’s 4.0mp Sony. In fact she liked my Optio 33L that she bought an identical one from me. I just might get myself a different camera for when I want to take pictures of clouds and we can’t pull over so I can get a steady shot, or I might not.

2006 Update: I did get myself another camera. I now have a Canon Powershot A610. I have yet to fully explore the possibilities with this camera, but so far, as far as macro shots are concerned I still prefer my S50. I am currently considering a Sony DSC T-30. I’ll wait till it’s more common and see how other people like it.  My 33L is now in DH’s possession.

Anyway, the pictures I took may have been slightly edited in Paint Shop Pro to enhance contrast and sharpness, reduce artifacts and “noise” typically found in digital photos, and also to resize them.  I take pictures at the biggest resolution possible and the best quality.

I don’t claim to be really good at taking pictures, I’m just a hobbyist who can’t afford the high-end SLRs and can’t concentrate enough to try to learn the manual controls on my own.  So I stick to my dear digicams, which work just fine for me. I haven’t fully explored my options with them too. I’m sure if I take the time I’ll take even better pictures.
